Sikabond Rapid DPM

Sikabond Rapid DPM is a fast-drying, ready-to-use damp proof membrane designed for preparing sub-floors before installing wood flooring. It acts as a primer, consolidator, and sealing coat, making it ideal for both new installations and refurbishment projects where the sub-floor condition may be less than perfect.

Usage

Sikabond Rapid DPM is used for priming, consolidating, and sealing both absorbent and non-absorbent sub-floors. It is particularly effective at strengthening weak cement screeds and isolating old adhesive residues, helping to create a stable and reliable surface for floor coverings. The product can also be used as a damp proof membrane on sub-floors that are not subject to hydrostatic pressure. It is suitable for use over underfloor heating systems, provided moisture levels do not exceed 3% (CM method) or 4.5% when measured using a Tramex meter.

Advantages

This one-part product is supplied ready to use, removing the need for mixing and reducing installation time. Sikabond Rapid DPM dries rapidly, typically within around 45 minutes at 20°C and 50% relative humidity, allowing work to progress quickly. It is fully compatible with all SikaBond® wood flooring adhesives and is especially suited to refurbishment projects where old adhesive residues remain. The product can be easily applied using a roller or squeegee and spreads smoothly thanks to its sag-free, free-flowing consistency. Skinning and laying time is approximately 10–20 minutes at 20°C and 50% relative humidity.
