Sika 1 Waterproofer

Sika®-1 is a trusted waterproofing admixture used to improve the resistance of mortars and concrete against water penetration. It is commonly added to renders, masonry mortars, and screeds, as well as both reinforced and unreinforced concrete, helping to protect structures from moisture ingress. The product is suitable for use on brick, concrete, and stone substrates and can be applied in both internal and external environments. Typical applications include basements, swimming pools, tunnels, water tanks, manholes, and culverts. Sika®-1 is also well suited for use in tropical and hot climate conditions.

Advantages

Sika®-1 works by blocking the capillaries and pores within the cementitious system, forming an effective barrier against the transmission of liquid water. This increases the overall impermeability of mortar and concrete while maintaining good workability. It is ready to use straight from the container, disperses easily during mixing, and is chloride-free, making it safe for use in reinforced concrete applications.

Sika®-1 is supplied in 5 litre and 25 litre pails and comes as a yellow liquid, making it easy to identify during application.
