Secure Promenade Slabs Against Movement

Castle Composites Promenade Tile Link Pads are self-adhesive pads designed to connect the underside of adjoining Promenade Slabs. They help reduce movement at unrestrained edges and provide additional stability against forces such as wind uplift, foot traffic and vibration. Each Link Pad features one adhesive side and one reinforced side. To install, simply remove the release tape and place the pad onto the support pad with the adhesive side facing upwards before laying the Promenade Slabs.

Improved Stability

When positioned correctly, the Link Pad connects four adjoining slabs at their corners, helping hold the paving layout together and reducing the likelihood of individual slabs moving. Testing showed that the Link Pad increased resistance to vertical uplift to up to 10 times the slab's self-weight and increased resistance to horizontal movement by up to 20 times. This makes it a useful accessory for installations where additional restraint is required without permanently bonding the slabs together.

Easy Access for Future Maintenance

One of the key advantages of the Link Pad system is that the slabs can still be removed when access to the surface below is required. If one or more slabs need to be lifted at a later date, the connection can be broken by carefully cutting around the relevant slab with a knife. Once the slab has been removed and the work is complete, the cut Link Pads can simply be replaced with new pads before the slab is reinstated. This provides additional stability while retaining practical access for inspection, repairs and maintenance.
