Despite its sturdy construction, the 1.3mm Vistalux Superweight sheet is designed to be manageable during installation. It can be drilled and cut using standard tools, making it suitable for a range of DIY and professional building projects. The clear PVC construction provides good optical clarity with approximately 66% light transmission, helping bring natural daylight into covered areas. The sheet also offers excellent fire performance, with a Class 1 fire rating. It is manufactured from self-extinguishing PVC, which is designed to melt away from a flame and stop burning once the source of the flame is removed.

Natural Light and Energy Performance

The clear finish makes Vistalux particularly useful for areas where natural daylight is desirable. It can allow significantly more natural light into a building than vertical glazing, helping create a brighter and more pleasant environment underneath the roof. Fixing and Installation

The number of fixings required can be estimated by dividing the roof length by the support centres and adding one. The roof width can then be divided by the fixing centres, with the two resulting figures multiplied together to give an approximate fixing quantity. For the warranty to remain valid, Vistalux sheets must be installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The warranty covers replacement where a manufacturing defect causes product failure under normal climatic conditions within 10 years of purchase. Re-erection costs and consequential damage are not included.

Storage and Delivery

For the best results, store Vistalux sheets indoors on a flat, dry surface in cool conditions. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, the sheets should be kept flat on wooden bearers positioned at approximately 1m centres and fully covered with an opaque, light-coloured tarpaulin. Avoid leaving stacked sheets exposed to direct sunlight, as solar heat can cause distortion within the stack. Please also note that these sheets cannot be manually offloaded during delivery. If suitable offloading equipment or assistance is not available, this should be discussed with the sales team before placing an order.
