Trimming and Finishing

The door is supplied with 6mm lippings, allowing up to 3mm of trimming from any edge to help achieve a suitable fit. Care should be taken when trimming to ensure the edges remain square and flat, and the manufacturer's guidance should be followed to maintain the required fire-door performance. Loose edge banding supplied within the packaging can be re-applied using a high-quality impact adhesive. Constant pressure should be maintained along the edge until the banding has fully adhered. Alternatively, the exposed long edge can be painted using a good-quality paint that closely matches the door face. Recommended colour references include Ivory, Black (RAL 9005) and Light Grey (RAL 7044). Masking tape can be applied to the face edge to help prevent paint from spreading onto the laminate. A minimum of two coats is recommended to protect the exposed timber lipping.
