Trimming and Finishing

The FD30 doors are supplied with 6mm lippings, allowing up to 3mm of trimming from any edge. This provides some flexibility when fitting the door while keeping within the specified limits. If trimming exposes the timber lipping, the supplied edge banding can be re-applied using a suitable high-quality impact adhesive. The edge should be kept square and flat to help the banding adhere correctly. Alternatively, exposed long edges can be painted using a good-quality paint that closely matches the door face. Recommended colour references include Ivory, Black (RAL 9005) and Light Grey (RAL 7044). Masking tape can be used along the face edge to help prevent paint from spreading onto the laminate surface, and at least two coats are recommended to protect the exposed timber lipping.
