For proper drainage, the roof should be pitched at a minimum slope of 10°. The sheet's flutes must run vertically from the top to the bottom of the slope—never side to side—as this ensures correct drainage and structural integrity. Sheets cannot be joined vertically from top to bottom.

Only use low modulus neutral cure sealant and cross-linked butyl flashing tape to ensure weather resistance and longevity.

Cutting and Shaping

Corotherm 16mm Triplewall sheets are simple to cut and won’t crack or shatter. For cuts parallel to the flutes, a sharp utility knife works well. For cross cuts, use a fine-toothed saw, and if you're working with curves, a fine-toothed jigsaw is the most suitable tool for the job.

Thermal Expansion

As with all polycarbonate materials, thermal expansion must be accounted for during installation. Leave adequate gaps at the top of the sheet, and when drilling fixing holes, allow at least 3mm around each hole for movement. Do not clamp or overtighten the sheets—this will restrict thermal movement and can lead to damage.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning your Corotherm sheet is easy. Simply use lukewarm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, brushes, or high-alkaline solutions as they can scratch or damage the sheet. The UV-protected surface also helps keep the sheet cleaner for longer, reducing maintenance needs.

10-Year Warranty

Corotherm 16mm Triplewall comes with a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions. If a fault develops due to a manufacturing issue within this timeframe, a replacement will be provided free of charge. However, the warranty is only valid if the product is installed and maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions. It does not cover reinstallation costs or consequential damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the 16mm Triplewall Corotherm suitable for roofing?

Yes, this product is specifically designed for roofing as well as vertical glazing. It’s ideal for porches, conservatories, carports, and similar structures thanks to its strength and insulation properties.

2. How should the sheet be installed to allow proper water drainage?

Make sure the sheet is installed at a roof pitch of at least 10°, with the flutes running vertically from top to bottom. This ensures effective water runoff and structural integrity.

3. How do I maintain the sheet to ensure the warranty remains valid?

To maintain warranty coverage, install the sheet according to the manufacturer’s instructions using only the recommended sealants and fixings. Also, ensure proper cleaning methods are followed—avoid abrasive cleaners and always use soft cloths or sponges.
Check out our <a This protects the material from sun damage and helps maintain performance over time.

To ensure proper drainage, install the sheets at a minimum roof pitch of 10°. The internal flutes should run vertically from the top to the bottom of the slope—not side to side—as this supports structural integrity and allows water to drain effectively. Sheets cannot be joined vertically from top to bottom.

For sealing and weatherproofing, only use low modulus neutral cure sealants and cross-linked butyl flashing tape. These materials ensure durability and prevent water ingress.

Cutting and Shaping

Corotherm Triplewall sheets are easy to handle and won’t crack or shatter during cutting. For cuts that run parallel to the flutes, a sharp utility knife will work well. For cross cuts, a fine-toothed saw is best. If you’re shaping curves, a fine-toothed jigsaw provides the most precise results.

Thermal Expansion

Like all polycarbonate materials, these sheets expand and contract with temperature changes. It’s important to allow for this movement during installation. Leave a small gap at the top of each sheet and drill fixing holes slightly larger than the fixings (at least 3mm extra around each hole). Avoid overtightening, as this can restrict expansion and cause damage.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Keeping your Corotherm sheet clean is simple. Use lukewarm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to remove dirt. Never use abrasive materials, harsh brushes, or high-alkaline cleaners, as they may scratch or damage the surface. The UV protection also helps repel dirt, reducing how often cleaning is needed.

10-Year Warranty

Corotherm 16mm Triplewall Sheets come with a 10-year warranty covering manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions. If a fault appears due to a production issue within this time frame, a free replacement will be provided.

Please note that the warranty is only valid if the sheets are installed and maintained according to the manufacturer’s guidelines. The warranty does not cover reinstallation costs or any damage resulting from incorrect installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. Is the 16mm Triplewall Corotherm suitable for roofing?
Yes, absolutely. The Corotherm 16mm Triplewall sheet is specifically designed for both roofing and vertical glazing. It’s ideal for projects like porches, carports, conservatories, and more, offering a balance of strength, light transmission, and insulation.
2. How should the sheet be installed to allow proper water drainage?
To ensure water drains effectively, the sheet should be installed at a minimum slope of 10°. The flutes must run vertically—from the top of the slope to the bottom. This setup ensures proper drainage and structural support.
3. How do I maintain the sheet to ensure the warranty remains valid?
To keep your warranty valid, follow the manufacturer’s installation instructions closely. Use only the recommended sealants and fixings, and avoid overtightening. For cleaning, stick to mild soapy water and soft cloths—avoid abrasive cleaners or tools.
Check out our <a This ensures the sheet remains protected from sun damage over time.

To allow rainwater to drain efficiently, the roof must be pitched at a minimum of 10°. The sheet’s internal flutes should run vertically, from the top to the bottom of the slope—never sideways—as this supports structural strength and ensures proper drainage.

Please note: sheets cannot be joined vertically. For best results, use low modulus neutral cure sealants and cross-linked butyl flashing tape for sealing.

Cutting and Shaping

Working with Corotherm sheets is straightforward. For cuts that run along the flutes, use a sharp utility knife. If you’re cutting across the flutes, a fine-toothed saw works best. For more intricate curved shapes, a fine-toothed jigsaw will give you clean results without splintering or cracking.

Thermal Expansion

Polycarbonate naturally expands and contracts with temperature changes, so it’s essential to account for this during installation. Leave a small gap at the top of each sheet, and when drilling, make the holes at least 3mm larger than the fixings to allow for movement.

Avoid clamping the sheets too tightly or overtightening fixings, as this may cause stress and cracking over time.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Keeping your sheet clean is simple and low effort. Use lukewarm, soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge to gently wipe away dirt or debris. Avoid abrasive products, rough brushes, and highly alkaline cleaning agents, as these can damage the surface.

The sheet’s UV protection also helps repel dirt, meaning you won’t need to clean it as frequently compared to other materials.

10-Year Warranty

Every Corotherm 16mm Triplewall sheet comes with a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty covering faults due to manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions.

Please remember that the warranty is only valid if the product is installed and maintained according to the official instructions. The warranty does not cover costs for reinstallation or damage resulting from incorrect installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes the opal finish different from the clear or bronze versions?
The opal finish provides a **softer, diffused light**, reducing glare while still allowing natural light to pass through. It’s ideal for areas where privacy or softer lighting is desired, such as conservatories or sheltered walkways.
2. Can I cut the sheets myself, and what tools should I use?
Yes, you can easily cut the sheets at home. Use a **sharp utility knife** for cuts along the flutes and a **fine-toothed saw or jigsaw** for cross cuts or curves. Always wear protective gear when cutting and secure the sheet to prevent slipping.
3. How do I make sure the warranty stays valid?
To keep your warranty valid, follow all installation instructions provided by Ariel Plastics. Use the correct sealants and flashing materials, install with the UV side facing out, and maintain the sheet with gentle cleaning methods only—no abrasive products or high-pressure For optimal drainage, your roof must have a minimum slope of 10°. The sheet’s flutes should always run vertically—from the top of the slope to the bottom. Never install with the flutes running sideways, and note that sheets cannot be joined vertically (top to bottom).

To maintain proper waterproofing, only use low modulus neutral cure sealant and cross-linked butyl flashing tape during installation.

Cutting and Shaping

Cutting Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall is simple and safe. It won’t crack or shatter when cut properly. Use a sharp utility knife for cuts along the direction of the flutes. For cuts across the flutes, a fine-toothed saw works best, while a fine-toothed jigsaw is ideal for any curved shapes.

Thermal Expansion

As with any polycarbonate product, you’ll need to allow for thermal expansion. Leave a gap at the top of the sheet during installation, and always drill fixing holes with an extra 3mm of space around each one. Avoid overtightening or clamping the sheets too tightly to ensure they can expand and contract naturally with temperature changes.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Cleaning your Corotherm sheet is easy. Just use lukewarm soapy water with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid harsh brushes, sharp tools, or abrasive or high-alkaline cleaning products that could damage the surface. Thanks to its UV-resistant and smooth surface, the sheet is largely self-cleaning.

10-Year Warranty

The Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall comes with a 10-year warranty covering any failure due to manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions. If an issue arises within this period, a replacement sheet will be provided free of charge. However, the sheet must be installed and maintained according to the manufacturer's instructions for the warranty to remain valid. Please note that the warranty does not cover reinstallation or any related damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes the 25mm 7Xwall better for insulation?

Its triple-wall, 7X structure provides excellent thermal insulation with a U-value of 1.4W/m²K. This means it helps retain heat better than thinner sheets, making it a great choice for conservatories and enclosed spaces.

2. Can I install this sheet for a flat roof?

No, flat installation is not recommended. The roof should have at least a 10° pitch to allow water to run off properly. Installing it flat can lead to water pooling and reduce the lifespan of the sheet.

3. Is heatguard opal different from regular opal?

Yes, heatguard opal is a dual-tint option designed to reflect more solar heat while still allowing light through. It’s ideal for spaces where you want to reduce heat build-up, like sunrooms or greenhouses.
Check out our roofing supplies.

Explore more from our Corotherm roof sheets range.

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0905/4509/4998/files/corotherm-bronze-25mm-7xwall-polycarbonate-roofing-sheet-ariel-plastics-1213095.jpg?v=1785298942
corotherm-clear-25mm-7xwall-polycarbonate-roofing-sheet-ariel-plastics
Corotherm Clear 25mm 7Xwall Polycarbonate Roofing Sheet - Ariel Plastics
The Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall sheet by Ariel Plastics is a high-performance polycarbonate roofing and glazing solution designed for energy efficiency and durability. The roof should be installed at a minimum pitch of 10° to allow proper water drainage.

The flutes must always run vertically, from the top of the slope down to the bottom. Installing them sideways prevents proper drainage and may compromise the sheet’s structural integrity. Also, sheets cannot be joined vertically from top to bottom.

For a watertight seal, use low modulus neutral cure sealants and cross-linked butyl flashing tape only, as recommended by the manufacturer.

Cutting and Shaping

The Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall sheet is easy to work with and won’t crack or splinter during cutting when handled correctly. If you're cutting along the flutes, a sharp utility knife is ideal. For cross cuts, use a fine-toothed saw. To shape the sheet into curves, a fine-toothed jigsaw will give you clean, smooth results.

Thermal Expansion

Like all polycarbonate products, these sheets expand and contract with temperature changes. Always allow for thermal movement during installation by leaving a small gap at the top of each sheet and drilling holes 3mm larger than the fixings.

Avoid over-clamping or tightening, as this restricts expansion and could lead to cracking or buckling over time.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Keeping your sheet clean is straightforward. Just wash with lukewarm soapy water and a soft sponge or cloth. Avoid abrasive tools, hard brushes, or strong alkaline cleaners, which can scratch or damage the surface.

Thanks to the UV-protected coating and smooth finish, the sheet naturally repels dirt and debris, making maintenance low-effort.

10-Year Warranty

Each Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall sheet comes with a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions. If an issue arises due to a factory fault within this period, a free replacement will be provided.

However, the warranty is only valid if the sheet is installed and maintained correctly, following all manufacturer instructions. It does not cover reinstallation costs or secondary damage.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. What makes the 25mm 7Xwall better for insulation?
The 7-wall structure of this sheet traps air between multiple layers, which significantly reduces heat transfer. With a **U-value of 1.4W/m²K**, it offers better thermal performance than thinner alternatives—making it ideal for conservatories and enclosed roofs where insulation is key.
2. Can I install this sheet on a flat roof?
No, flat installation isn’t advised. The roof must have a **minimum 10° pitch** to allow water to drain away properly. This not only protects the material from sun damage but also helps extend its lifespan.

Your roof must have a minimum pitch of 10° to allow water to run off effectively. The flutes within the sheet must run vertically, from the top of the slope to the bottom. Never lay the flutes sideways, and avoid attempting to join sheets vertically.

To ensure a watertight seal and long-lasting performance, use only low modulus neutral cure sealant and cross-linked butyl flashing tape during installation.

Cutting and Shaping

Cutting the Corotherm 25mm 7Xwall sheet is straightforward. For cuts along the flutes, use a sharp utility knife. For cross cuts, a fine-toothed saw is ideal, and if you need to cut curves, a fine-toothed jigsaw provides the most control and clean results.

Always ensure the sheet is properly supported during cutting to prevent any movement.

Thermal Expansion

As with all polycarbonate products, it’s important to allow for thermal expansion and contraction. Leave a small gap at the top of the sheet during installation, and drill fixing holes with at least 3mm of clearance around the fastener to enable natural movement.

Avoid overtightening or clamping the sheet too tightly, as this could restrict movement and lead to stress fractures over time.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Caring for your Corotherm sheet is quick and easy. Clean the surface using lukewarm water and a mild soap solution, applied with a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid any abrasive cleaners, hard brushes, or high-alkaline products, as these could damage the protective UV layer or cause surface scratching.

Thanks to its smooth, UV-protected surface, the sheet is largely self-cleaning, meaning you’ll spend less time on upkeep.

10-Year Warranty

This product is covered by a 10-year warranty against defects caused by manufacturing issues under normal weather conditions. If a fault occurs during this time, the sheet can be replaced free of charge.

To maintain your warranty, the sheet must be installed and maintained according to the manufacturer’s instructions. The warranty does not cover reinstallation costs or damage caused by incorrect installation or neglect.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How does the opal finish affect light and heat?
The opal finish allows natural light to filter through while **reducing glare and harsh brightness**. It also provides some insulation from solar heat, making it more comfortable in enclosed areas like conservatories or lean-tos.
2. Can I use this sheet on a completely flat roof?
No, a **flat installation is not recommended**. The roof must be pitched at **a minimum of 10°** to allow proper rainwater runoff. Installing it flat can lead to pooling water, reduced performance, and a shorter lifespan.
3. Is this sheet easy to work with for home installations?
Yes, it’s very **DIY-friendly**. The sheet is lightweight and easy to cut using basic tools like a utility knife or saw. Sheets must be installed with a minimum roof pitch of 10° to allow proper water drainage.

The flutes of the sheet must run vertically—from the top to the bottom of the slope—not side to side. When sealing or flashing, always use low modulus neutral cure sealant and cross-linked butyl flashing tape to maintain weather resistance and ensure longevity.

Cutting and Shaping

Corotherm 10mm is easy to cut and won’t crack or shatter when handled properly. For straight cuts along the flutes, a sharp utility knife works well. When cutting across the flutes, a fine-toothed saw is recommended. For any curved cuts, a fine-toothed jigsaw is the best tool for the job.

Thermal Expansion

Polycarbonate expands and contracts with changes in temperature. To prevent buckling or warping, leave adequate expansion gaps when fitting the sheets. Allow a gap at the top end, and when drilling fixing holes, leave at least 3mm of space around each one. Never over-tighten or clamp the sheets—leave them room to move.

Cleaning and Maintenance

Corotherm can be cleaned quickly and easily using lukewarm soapy water and a soft cloth or sponge. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, sharp tools, or anything with a high alkaline content, as these may damage the surface. Thanks to its UV-resistant coating, the sheet is also largely self-cleaning.

10-Year Warranty

This product comes with a 10-year warranty that covers manufacturing defects under normal weather conditions. It’s important to choose the correct accessories that match your sheet’s profile to ensure a secure and weatherproof installation.

Calculating Sheet Requirements

To figure out how many sheets you'll need, measure the total width of your roof and divide it by the cover width of your chosen profile. For example, if you're using a 6" Asbestos profile sheet and your roof is 3000mm wide, divide 3000mm by the 1016mm cover width. The result is 2.95—so you’ll need to round up and purchase 3 full sheets to cover the area completely.

Fixings Requirements

To estimate how many fixings you’ll need:

Divide the roof width by the fixing centres

Divide the roof length by the support centres, and add one

Multiply the two resulting values to get an approximate number of fixings required

Using the correct number and placement of fixings is crucial for long-term stability and performance.

10-Year Warranty

Vistalux PVC sheets are covered by a 10-year warranty against manufacturing defects under normal climatic conditions. If a sheet fails due to a fault in manufacture within 10 years of purchase, it will be replaced free of charge. Please note that the warranty is only valid when the sheets are fixed and maintained in line with the manufacturer’s instructions. Costs related to re-installation or any consequential damage are not covered.

Frequently Asked Questions

1. They’re commonly used for garden sheds, lean-tos, and even covered walkways, offering both protection and light transmission.

2. With its clear finish and 3-inch corrugated profile, it provides a practical way to create bright, well-lit spaces while offering a robust roofing material that remains lightweight and easy to handle.

Strong, Lightweight and Easy to Work With

Despite its sturdy construction, the 1.3mm Vistalux Superweight sheet is designed to be manageable during installation. It can be drilled and cut using standard tools, making it suitable for a range of DIY and professional building projects. The clear PVC construction provides good optical clarity with approximately 66% light transmission, helping bring natural daylight into covered areas.

The sheet also offers excellent fire performance, with a Class 1 fire rating. It is manufactured from self-extinguishing PVC, which is designed to melt away from a flame and stop burning once the source of the flame is removed.

Natural Light and Energy Performance

The clear finish makes Vistalux particularly useful for areas where natural daylight is desirable. It can allow significantly more natural light into a building than vertical glazing, helping create a brighter and more pleasant environment underneath the roof.

The sheet has a stated U-value of 5.67W/m²K and is designed for use within a service temperature range of -20°C to +60°C. It also comes with a 10-year warranty, subject to the manufacturer's installation and maintenance requirements.

Versatile Applications

This Superweight corrugated PVC sheet is suitable for a wide variety of roofing, rooflight and cladding applications. It can be used for porches, carports, canopies, lean-to extensions, garden sheds and covered walkways, as well as side cladding. It is also suitable for horticultural applications such as plant houses, cold frames and cloches.

Fixing and Installation

The number of fixings required can be estimated by dividing the roof length by the support centres and adding one. The roof width can then be divided by the fixing centres, with the two resulting figures multiplied together to give an approximate fixing quantity.

For the warranty to remain valid, Vistalux sheets must be installed and maintained in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. The warranty covers replacement where a manufacturing defect causes product failure under normal climatic conditions within 10 years of purchase. Re-erection costs and consequential damage are not included.

Storage and Delivery

For the best results, store Vistalux sheets indoors on a flat, dry surface in cool conditions. If outdoor storage is unavoidable, the sheets should be kept flat on wooden bearers positioned at approximately 1m centres and fully covered with an opaque, light-coloured tarpaulin. Avoid leaving stacked sheets exposed to direct sunlight, as solar heat can cause distortion within the stack.

Please also note that these sheets cannot be manually offloaded during delivery. If suitable offloading equipment or assistance is not available, this should be discussed with the sales team before placing an order.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Vistalux Superweight Roof Sheet used for?

The sheet is suitable for a wide range of roofing, rooflight and cladding applications, including porches, carports, canopies, lean-to extensions, sheds, covered walkways, side cladding, plant houses, cold frames and cloches.

How much natural light does the clear Vistalux sheet transmit?

The clear sheet provides approximately 66% light transmission, offering good optical clarity and allowing natural daylight to brighten the space below.

Does the Vistalux Superweight sheet have a warranty?

Yes.
